These tech accessories are my secret to the perfect fall vibe

Key Takeaways

  • Casetify’s Essentials line offers tech accessories in calming colors for fall.
  • The Ripple phone case is a colorful silicone option, but lacks hardshell protection.
  • The AirPods cases, including a Ripple option, add style and prevent scratches, but offer minimal protection.

As the summer slowly transitions to fall, it’s time many people began transitioning their “brat summer” wardrobe to serene, Nora Ephron-esque accessories. While changing your wardrobe and the air around you starts to cool, don’t forget to transition your tech accessories, too. Bright phone cases are fun for summer, but to truly set the tone for fall, you may want to buy some new tech accessories from Casetify’s latest Essentials line.

Casetify has a wide line of artsy and effective cases, and its latest Essentials line is no different.

I’ve been a huge fan of Casetify ever since I bought one of its Bounce cases two years ago. As someone notorious for dropping my phone (I shattered the back of my iPhone 13 Pro the first day I bought it), having a protective case that can resist the biggest drops is essential. Normally, the most protective cases also happen to be the least aesthetically appealing, but not with Casetify. Casetify has a wide line of artsy and effective cases, and its latest Essentials line is no different.

The Essentials by Casetify line includes a wide range of pastel and monochromatic phone cases, AirPods cases, and more. The line also includes select hard leather cases for the utmost protection and fun accessories to help keep your phone near. If you’ve wanted to upgrade your phone cases and want to know if the Casetify line is really worth the $60+ price tag, I’m here to help. Read along for my take on what products are worth the money, and which you can avoid.

Essentials Ripple Phone Case

Casetify Ripple Case

Casetify’s Ripple phone case comes in ten different colors for Apple and Samsung devices. The silicone case adds a nice minimalistic colorful addition to any phone.

Cons

  • Not as protective as hard shell cases
  • Gets dirty easy

When I first opened the Ripple phone case, I was in awe of the beautiful pastel blue and pink colors I received. The light blue case reminds me of a summery day and added the perfect bit of color to the back of my iPhone. I love the ripple effect on the back of the case, it adds some subtle character.

Those wanting a more eco-friendly case can rest assured knowing this case is made of over 50% recycled materials and can be recycled after its use.

The $62 case comes in ten different colors for both Apple and Samsung phones. The yellow, pink, white, and blue colors are perfect for the late summer season, whereas the oat, latte, cacao, black, green, and red colors help prep for the fall and winter. The case is made of soft-touch silicone, so not a hard shell like Casetify’s bounce case, but still offers some protection. Casetify’s Ripple phone case is MagSafe compatible and is built to withstand a 6.6-foot drop. Overall, I’ve loved using the Ripple case. The lighter color silicone does mean that it gets dirtier easily, but the case is super easy to clean. My only gripe with the Ripple case is that it’s not nearly as protective as the Bounce case or other hardshell cases. However, those who prefer a slimmer but still relatively protective case will love the new Essentials line.

Essentials AirPods Cases

For both pocketable AirPods and the over-ear AirPods Max

Casetify AirPods Pro Case

Casetify’s AirPods Pro and AirPods Max ripple case offer a nice addition of color and helps to prevent any scratches or wear and tear.

Pros

  • Prevents scratches
  • Easy to put on

As part of the Essentials line, Casetify also released new cases for the in-ear AirPods Pro and over-ear AirPods Max. In the six years I’ve owned AirPods I never once thought about putting a case on them, until now. I can’t believe I’ve been living in denial about using a case.

The AirPods Pro Ripple case has changed the way I transport my AurPods Pro. The case’s design coordinates with that of the phone case design, which makes for a cohesive aesthetic. However, instead of coming in ten colors, it only comes in three: white, blue, and pink. The $48 case comes with a keychain which allows users to attach the case on to any bag or key ring. My biggest problem I face with attaching the case to a keyring is that sometimes the case opens and one of my AirPods falls out. Luckily, I’ve noticed the loss before any real damage has been done, but it’s definitely something to watch out for.

Casetify’s AirPods Max case is also another tech essential I never knew I needed. The new line includes two different AirPods Max cases: the Ripple case and the Leather case. The Ripple case has a similar silicone texture and design to the phone cases and the AirPods Pro case. The $58 Ripple case doesn’t offer any sturdy protection but does prevent any scratches or ordinary wear and tear. The leather case, on the other hand, offers a lot more protection but at a lot higher price.

Casetify leather case

Casetify’s leather AirPods Max case is made of real Italian leather and snaps on to your AirPods Max. The case offers the most protection of the AirPods cases.

Pros

  • Nice design
  • Super protective

The hard-shelled leather case snaps onto the AirPods Max and costs $132. Casetify’s website describes the case as “a study in contrasts, balancing a modern, sculptural shape with soft, full-grain leather. Made in a sun-kissed Italian leather and finished with a debossed logo stamp.” You can definitely tell the difference in quality between the leather case and other cases on the Essentials line. While I don’t know if it’s necessary to spend over $100 on a case for AirPods Max, if you’re looking for the best protection, this case is definitely it.

Essentials Tech Accessories

The Essentials line also includes two additional tech accessories: a utility lanyard and a rope cross-body strap. If you were to ask me which items from the line are non-essential, I would say these two. The items are great quality, but I wouldn’t say its worth spending a combined $200 on both of them.

Casetify Rope Crossbody

Casetify’s rope cross-body made from 100% cotton and allows users to go hand-free. The rope is not my top recommendation from the line but is made of really good quality and works best for those looking for an easy way to carry their phone around on the go.

The $48 rope crossbody strap is made from 100% cotton, compatible with most phone cases, has a sustainably sourced leather trim, and is adjustable. The rope is pretty bulky, but if you want to make sure you don’t lose your phone or if you’re looking for an easy way to carry around your phone while hiking, then you should consider the strap.

casetify lanyard

Casetify Utility Lanyard

Casetify’s utility lanyard is one of the most expensive items in the collection, but if you’re looking for a thick lanyard with an AirPods Pro case, it would be worth the money.

Pros

  • Includes AirPods Pro case
  • Good quality

The two-in-one utility lanyard costs $132 and includes a leather AirPods case. I would recommend buying this lanyard over the crossbody strap as you get an excellent two-in-one deal, and it’s a little more practical. The lanyard has nice leather detail and metal accents. It gives more of a rustic, hardware look, but is still super practical.
